Mrs. Avra graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a B.S.E. with Honors in English, M.S.E. and Ed.S. She spent 14 years as a classroom teacher at Conway Jr. High and Conway High School and 4 years as an instructor in UCA's teacher education program and adjunct faculty at UCA. Mrs. Avra returned to Conway Public Schools and worked as an assistant principal at Carl Stuart Middle School for seven years. During that time she served on the executive board of the Arkansas Association for Middle Level Education. In early 2004 Mrs. Avra was selected as the principal of Ruth Doyle Middle School. As she puts it - she was "given the privilege of opening Ruth Doyle in 2004-05."
Joey Achan currently serves as Assistant Principal at Ruth Doyle Middle School. Mr. Achan has been in working in education since 1998. Mr. Achan's teaching experience includes elementary and middle school. Mr. Achan received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Henderson State University in 1998 and a Master of Science Degree in School Management, Leadership and Administration from the University of Central Arkansas in 2007. On a personal note, he is married to Torrie Achan. They have two children, Madison and Josiah.
Mrs. Oates is considered to be a “Wampus Cat Lifer." She was educated through Conway School District. She graduated from the Conway High School, and she has worked her entire educational career through Conway Public Schools. She has been a Special Education Teacher, Special Education Designee, School Counselor, and an Interim Assistant Principal. Mrs. Oates holds an Associate’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree. She continued with her education by obtaining a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Oates has worked at both the middle school and Jr. high levels. She earned National Board Certification in School Counseling in 2009.
